The Xiangshan area in the north of Taiwan has four no-polluter groundwater pollution sites that need to investigate and execute a contingency plan for cleanup. In addition, the core TCE pollution hotspot was found and located east of Ren-ai Section, No. 809 through the supplemental investigation. Also, in the cleanup plan, we perfused the batch biological reagent in the user restriction zone of groundwater on four sites (pollution hotspot zone and surrounding diffusion zone). And risk management measures have been introduced by evaluating the chlorinated hydrocarbons trend of natural attenuation and concentrations. Based on the sampling result in March 2022, the concentration of TCE and 1,1-DCE in groundwater are under their groundwater pollution control standards, and ethylene/ethane, the final products of dechlorination, are identified in some monitoring wells. The result shows the goals of reducing concentrations of target pollutants, accelerating improvement of pollution sites, protecting public health, and achieving the goal of water safety via groundwater pollution improvement.
